All is Right with the World

Every time I try to write a post here it starts sounding much too much like my thesis. So rather than boring you faithful reader(s) with my prosaic and half-formed ideas, I'm giving you the songs I'm listening to and the videos I'm watching that contribute to my thinking.

I saw the Drops do this live a month or so back and lost my breath. They continually amaze me. My favorite thing about this song, is that it doesn't strike me as a novelty song. It's not like the Gourds doing "Gin n Juice." This song is just another in the trajectory of "my man done me wrong" songs. It's the twenty first century answer to Ma Rainey's "Black Eyed Blues."
